7 Ways To Recognize Your Calling From God Is Sure

1. Hear the voice of God.

Jonah was given a direct message from the Lord to go to Nineveh and announce His judgment to the people (see Jonah 1:1). I heard God?s voice tell me to ?feed my people? first then later on He revealed the second part of the instruction, ?feed my people with the truth?. I know it was God because He has given me this gift of writing which He revealed to me after praying and asking Him questions; it is to build His Kingdom. What gifts has God given to you? Are you using them to build His Kingdom and for His glory and greatness or to build your own?

2. Be Holy Spirit led.

The Holy Spirit who lives in you the believer has been given to us as the Advocate, Counsellor, Comforter and Guide that will lead us into all truth (see John 14:16-17). We are never alone and He is the one that will direct us on the path that He has instructed us. God?s eternal words have been given to us to teach, prepare, enable, equip and empower us to do His work and His will (paraphrased 2 Timothy 3:16-17). We are fully loaded!

3. Stay on the path He has commanded.

God wants us to be faithfully committed to Him wholeheartedly and single-mindedly serving Him. He wants someone that is available and willing to submit themselves, surrender their will for His, to humble themselves and to heed His call. Moses told the children of Israel about the importance of listening carefully to God?s instructions, learning them, and obeying. He told them that in order to possess their possessions they needed to obey all the instructions of the Lord your God, following his directions in every detail, going the whole way he has laid out for you; only then will you live long and prosperous lives in the land you are to enter and possess (see Deuteronomy 5:32-33).

4. Keep your focus on Jesus; stand on His Word.

There will be lots of distractions and there may be some naysayers that will try to discourage you. I remember going to a prophet to discuss my calling. He put me down to the point where I cried for a long time. Then my son later that evening, said to me, ?Jehovah has the final say,? and with that encouragement I kept my focus on Jesus. I continue to stand on His Eternal Word. Isaiah 26:3 reads,??You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.?

5. Let go of the past, embrace God?s plans for your present and future.

It is important to understand that we all make mistakes and we all have a past. This does not determine who we are. Let go and let God! God sees us as blessed and He loves us. He sets the standard for everything in our lives, not people. Identifying who you are in Christ sets the pace for this journey that God is taking you on for His plans for us are for good, not for evil to give us a future filled with hope, prosperity and restoration (see Jeremiah 29:11-14).

6. Spend time in His Presence. Find His will, His purpose.

In His Presence, you will find revelation on the path of life, He will fill you with peace, confident assurance, joy and give you eternal pleasures in His right hand (paraphrased Psalms 16:11). David wrote in Psalms 118:15-16 that,??God?s right hand does glorious and mighty things and it is lifted up in triumph and victory.??In His Presence is finding quiet time to read His Word, to pray and to meditate on it. You will lose the desires of the flesh and gain growth in the Spirit!

7. Make His will and purpose important and above your needs.

I have been reading the Lord?s Prayer since I was a very young age. It wasn?t until 26th February 2019, that I received the revelation that as we make God?s priorities our own He will provide for us, every need and He will sustain us. His priorities are His name, His Kingdom, and His will. Whatever we are doing and if it is not in this order we are to pray and ask for the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth so that we can live prosperous and long lives today. Remember God is good and He loves us.

It is important to understand that we all make mistakes and we all have a past. This does not determine who we are. Let go and let God!
